| SPCA wants to hear from you! During this transition to Parent Councils, we would like your opinion about how best we can work on your behalf, and what issues are important to you over the coming year. We have had several meetings with representatives from the Scottish Executive (now Scottish Government) Education Department, Her Majestys Inspectorate of Education, the Scottish Qualifications Authority and we also have representation on the Assessment is for Learning Project. Please also let us know if you have any ideas about other activities you feel we should be involved in. We are also very happy for you to contact us for information and advice about the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 and we would also like to hear from those of you with examples of good practice of parental involvement. We would hope to share these across Scotland. Feedback on the Parents as partners in their childrens learning Toolkit (SEED, 2006) given to you as a national resource would be interesting. Our Annual Conference is being planned for April or May 2008 and we are keen to hear any suggestions for content. The office is currently receiving an extremely high volume of calls and emails with queries relating to Parent Councils, so please be patient while we answer your call. Jennifer will be happy to help you and if she cant answer your query shell find someone who can. The office telephone number is - 01387 260428
