‘Safe Internet Use – Do you know who your child is speaking to?’

Introduction

One of the main topics we want to cover at the Conference is around internet safety/safe social
networking (eg Facebook types of sites) as we feel children use them regularly but their parents
tend not to be up to speed with them.

In this respect, we are delighted to be able to bring you an expert from the Child Exploitation
and Online Protection centre - a Government run, multi-faceted child protection agency for
the UK. Some of you may have seen the recent Panorama television programme which they
took part in covering online safety.

To continue with the ‘safety’ theme, we also want to cover Health and Safety issues in schools
and are pleased that Jeff Hardman, from European Education Consultants will be providing a
presentation on this at the Conference.

Costs

The cost of attending the Conference of Parent Councils :-

for those who are members by the end of March 2008 the cost will be £5 per delegate;

for those who join after March 2008 but before the Conference, the cost will be £10 per delegate;

for non-memebers the cost will be £35.

We hope to have an excellent turnout at the Conference and are confident that we
have made it as cost- effective as possible with the special delegate price..
