More Information on
this ServiceFor SPCA to communicate
effectively with the members has always been a
time consuming as well as expensive process, by way of
printing and postage
costs and distribution to forum members could therefore
be slow.
Surveys
and opinions could not readily be communicated to all
members
to elicit their opinions on current issues and often
replies gained were not
timely received to be reflected in our communications to
Government
Departments. Often when the Scottish Government
issue consultation
documents which ask for interested parties, including
SPCA, to give them
views on their proposals, they have deadlines for us to
give our views on
their proposals those relevant to parents and
schools are obviously
of great importance to us, but often replies from members
are late like
voting at your polling station a day late
theres no point asking to be
counted after the result of the vote has been decided and
the closing
date has passed.
In
the past sending messages to personal e-mail addresses
has not been the
best solution, as it relied on busy members letting us
and others know when
they changed e-mail address we were last on the
list and often e-mail
was just returned to sender.
So
here is our solution we provide all Parent
Councils inScotland with their
own dedicated individual e-mail address for us to
communicate to them
and for them to communicate to us.
Most
IBM compatible computers (PC) use MS Outlook Express or
more
recently MS Windows Mail, while others may be using MS
Outlook 2000,
XP, 2003, or 2007. Login details have been supplied
to all Parent Councils in
Scotland so that the Chair, Secretary or other designated
person of each Council,
can set up an e-mail account on a computer for receiving
regular mailings
from us as well as surveys / straw polls for them to give
SPCA a quick response.
