SPCA President & Executive Board Member

Parent Council: Chair of Muirfield Primary School Parent Council

Interests: Reading, golf, football, watching most sports.

Experience: I have lived in Arbroath for 16 years, worked for an engineering company as a C.N.C Turner, then
I became part of an Inspection team working in the same industry till I was medically retired due to an illness,
then I joined my eldest childs school board approximately eight years ago with the last four years as chairperson.
Then I was co-opted onto the SSBA Executive Board last year. I have really enjoyed my time on school boards
and I'm finding this new role really exciting through the amount of parents and other members of the communities
I have had to visit. I have also taken part in setting up school policies on anti-bullying, drugs, and have currently
been part of Angus Council's Parental Involvement policy which is due to be launched later this year - this was
very rewarding. I hope to be part of the SSBA Executive Board for a long time yet and hope I can add as much
as I can with the amount of time and resourses that I have gained in my time that I have been involved with
School Boards.
